Tobago

The island belongs to the Lesser Antilles and is located between the southern Caribbean and the Atlantic Ocean, around 30 km north-east of Trinidad.

Tobago is 40.7 km long, 11.7 km wide and covers an area of approx. 300 km².
At 576 metres, Pigeon Peak is the highest point on the island.

Tobago was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1498. He called the island Bella Forma, later it was renamed several times, with its last name Tobago probably deriving from tobacco.

The cuisine of Tobago, known as Trinidadian cuisine, is characterised by African and Indian influences and, of course, by a variety of cultural influences from the respective colonial powers.

A mixture of different culinary traditions awaits us here, in which fruit plays a major role.
