Crown Point

The Tropikist Beach Hotel & Resort Lrd. is close to Crown Point, a town and region in south-west Tobago.

The name element "Crown" is not derived from the English word "crown", but from the English word "couronian", which refers to the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia that ruled Tobago in the late 17th century.

A short trip to Crown Point Lighthouse is an active lighthouse in Scarborough, at the south-western end of Tobago, is rewarded with a fantastic view - this is where postcard motifs are created.

The 26 metre high lighthouse is still in active use and consists of a square metal tower with a gallery and lantern. It is powered by a solar system and emits four white flashing lights alternately, which are repeated every 20 seconds and are visible for up to 30 kilometres.
